Flights from ATL to YHZ will be operated by Skywest using the CRJ-900. Flights from JFK to YHZ will be operated by Comair using the CRJ-200.

Good for Comair! Now Eagle will have some US compition on the route. Loads usually look good for Eagle on this route. However, I think they are dropping LGA-YHZ.

Quoting Flynavy (Thread starter): I'm personally glad we've resumed YHZ service as I have a number of friends stationed in Halifax with the Canadian Forces.
How do you mean "resumed" YHZ services? To my recollection, DL has never stopped serving YHZ. Or do you from ATL specifically?

GCM shows it being 1357 miles from ATL. I think this flight will go senior if it is not a layover.

If the DL NW merger goes ahead as planned, will NW's DTW-YHZ be dropped?

I can see AA dropping YHZ-LGA if they're already flying YHZ-JFK. $130-$140 crude can't support both.
Is AA still operating YHZ-ORD?

Someone is making a mistake. There is no way a 1357 mile journey can be blocked for 2:20 even with a tailwind. Taking into account taxi times in ATL and YHZ, you'd be looking at 675mph ground speed from takeoff to touchdown. I just flew PHL-IAH blocked at 3:58 and it is of a similar distance.
There are 3 types of people in this world, those that can count, and those that can't.

Times seem very ambitious - 2h20 minutes ATL-YHZ is going to be one of the most delayed flights out there, between ATL taxi times and then flight time (no way that flight blocks at 2 hours even; my ATL-BOS flights often block around 1h50 minutes takeoff to touchdown and YHZ is about 400 miles northeast of Boston).

Odd that Delta is using the same flight number both ways!! Is this usual practice?

Huh? That would be "flight time," not "block time." Block time includes push, taxi and ground crew reception. The term for takeoff to touchdown is "flight time."
Don't shoot me, I'm just the messenger. Check delta.com
It's a Saturday flight, there is less airport congestion then, I believe... and the CRJ900 is almost as quick as a B737NG.
Even so, something seems to be wrong with those ATL-YHZ-ATL flight times. ATL-YHZ is about 160 miles further than ATL-DEN but DL's schedules show their CRJ-900 ATL-YHZ about 40 minutes faster than a 752 or 738 ATL-DEN. Also faster than a 757 DEN-ATL where tailwinds should favor the DEN-ATL flight even discounting the cruising speed difference.

Without factoring wind, it should take 2h36 to travel ATL-YHZ at cruise speed on a CRJ-900. Given that, it seems rather unlikely to be able to achieve the flight times published by Delta, though I suppose it must be possible.
