A343 Convert To A333 - Would It Make Sense?

Hi to all!

Now, as we see a good demand for the A330 series, would it make sense to convert existing A340-300 to A330-300's?

I have been questioning that my self a while. Both aircraft types are very similar, even the wings.
Would it make sense, or would it be simply to expensive? Maybe more fuel-saving engines could be used like RR Trent's...

How would it affect the range of the aircraft?
Might there be a demand for such a program?
Would it even increase the rather weak take off performance?

What are your thoughts?

Kind regards,
Patrick

Such a conversion would be expensive, and perform below actual A333 performance, since you have some extras aboard like the extra gear. I assume it would cost much more than doing the same job on the A343 as it is and paying for the fuel.

Discussing an A343 update with 4 GTF might be a topic on this forum in a year or two.

This could answer some questions. Thanks!

But since 2006, the fuel price has grown significant. Might this therefore shed new light on the idea?

since you have some extras aboard like the extra gear.

How about to remove it and put the A330 blind plugs over the gear bay?

You will end up with an early A333 in the best case.
