I've flown USAirways dozens of times -- never without a problem, other than weather-related. I endorse them highly. I've been on several 757 transcons, all with good service. If it's PIT you're connecting through, it's a wonderful hub.

I fly US Airways all the time and have flown on 757 numerous times coast to coast from Philadelphia. They have great service and great food, espicially in first class. I have never lost a piece of luggage with them and i don't think that they have a bad rep. at all

I fly US Airways often. TF Green Field in Providence, RI is really a beautiful airport, with a sparkling new terminal and no crowds. Philly and Pittsburgh are really nice airports too, I assume you are connecting in one of those places. Philly's new food court between terminals B and C is really nice. I recommend the Bourbon Chicken if you are hungry during the layover (it is at the chinese place near the entrance to the food court). Both Philly and PIT have nice shops.
I have found service to be excellent on US Airways, especially in First Class. You will probably get a movie and maybe some sitcoms or CNN. Have a great trip!
