Any info on the type? I'm assuming either MI-8 or S-70 series. They have been using their smll Blackhawk fleet extensively for relief operations.

AP was reporting that it was a Mi-171, so I suppose they meant Mi-17...

My condolences to the families.

The rescue crews have to be getting very exhausted by now. Is there any status of airport closings (if any)? Thanks in advance.

MI-171 is a kind of new-generation MI-17. It switched out the clamshell rear doors for a ramp, amongst other things.
