Was weather related, Frankfurt/Main was basically shut (ony a few exceptions) between around 19:00 and 20:00 local due to a severe thunderstorm above the airfield, the remnants there until about midnight. Traffic started to resume slowly shortly after 20:00, several diverted long hauls were called in after those planes in the holdings were on the ground. LH739, D-ABVR, arrived in Frankfurt with just over 2 hours delay at 21:48 local.

Thanks for the info. Was one of my ideas, too, but the publically available weather info for that time @ FRA did not look that bad when I checked later that evening.
Anyhow: Better be safe than sorry & it was a welcomed visitor to HAJ (even though I was not able to shoot any pictures) ...
