Flight LH 0739 inbound from HKG to FRA diverted into HAJ today (02-JUN-2008).
Any reason known ?

From hannover-airport.de:
DLH 739 Hong Kong Chek Lap Kok --- expected: 20:10h landed: 20:01h

It was a quite unsual sight to see a pax-B744 on approach from the south to HAJ while I was watering my garden this evening.

Was weather related, Frankfurt/Main was basically shut (ony a few exceptions) between around 19:00 and 20:00 local due to a severe thunderstorm above the airfield, the remnants there until about midnight. Traffic started to resume slowly shortly after 20:00, several diverted long hauls were called in after those planes in the holdings were on the ground. LH739, D-ABVR, arrived in Frankfurt with just over 2 hours delay at 21:48 local.

Yes, it was a rain I would not really love to land in. So if everybody was embarassed, if he had looked out of my window he would have been happy.

But weather is fine this morning. But maybe still some cleanup work?

Thanks for the info. Was one of my ideas, too, but the publically available weather info for that time @ FRA did not look that bad when I checked later that evening.
Anyhow: Better be safe than sorry & it was a welcomed visitor to HAJ (even though I was not able to shoot any pictures) ...
