So about 530pm today I saw what looked to be an all-white 767-200 on finals to IAD. Naturally, this flight doesn't show up on flightaware. There is a slight chance it might have been a 763. Anyone have an idea? Thanks!

I've seen these also and wondered. This is just a GUESS but I think they might belong to the Immigration and Naturalizations Service. Someone here will know.

...are we there yet?

No, they operate M80's and 734's.

It is one of at least three x-UAL B767 being changed to registration
N767VA
N768VA
N769VA

The last large block of FAA registration numbers reserved with VA was the 36 of Virgin America.

Owner is listed as Vision Airlines, a charter oufit in LAS. They're not advertising anything else than regional flights, but they may have picked up some casino-charters ...

Mostly US Military charters to Europe it looks like fo rthe big planes and the B737 - there are several photos of a Do-228, Do-328 prop and jet and a B1900 on this site.

There's been rumors of them picking up some casino charter contracts as well as rumors of a base at UTA (Tunica, MS). 767s can easily operate into/out of UTA, as the runway there is 8500' in length and 150' in width.

Since the B767 and B737 have been flying around Europe a lot - I wonder if the owners / operators of the jets is the same as the charter company from Las Vegas.

None of the B767 registrations are in the group of 9 reserved by Vision Airlines of Las Vegas. I don't see any registrations reserved by VisonAir, Inc of Van Nuys, Ca.

I bet it's Vision Air- I hadn't thought of them, and I'm fairly certain there are pics of one of their 767s at IAD on the 'other site'. Thanks everyone!

The 767-200's & 737's are operated by Vision Air. The 737's are being pulled back into the US for domestic charter work. The 762's operate in all business class configuration for the CIA and not really fo the military. Operating out of IAD, they fly to either Kabul or Baghdad via Bucharest. They use to operate via Bratislava, but some dispute about the operation forced the change to Bucharest...

Very good info.... I have always wondered about them. Last time I was there I saw all three at once.

They always park on the R ramp R16, R14, and R12 just off Foxtrot South of UA D concourse..
