I just heard from someone out in Las Vegas that Omni Air International (OAI) has grounded as many as 6 aircraft due to mechanical/wiring or some other safety related issues. That same person also said that this occurred yesterday effective at 12am, was involving the FAA, and that only upper management and certain people within the company were to be told of this in fear that the DOD, and local press would get wind of the problems. It was not clear what airports the aircraft were grounded in as well.
The information that he got was from a source within the airline. Have been looking online all morning and cannot find any information about any of this...

I am new to anything about Omni Air International. Was clueless as to their mere existence until a few months ago while on a trip to Ireland. From what I can find their fleet consists of:

I recently flew with them BZZ - ASI - MPN - ASI - BZZ and have to say that for the age of the aircraft DC-10-30, they were both immaculate. They strike me as nothing less than a superbly run outfit.

Bangor, Maine is a common transit stop for all troop-carrying charters. I'll check on Flightaware to see if any of their planes have come in without also having departed.
