Hey Guys:
I am sure with all the mess going on with the aviation industry right now, this is probably the last thing on Deltas mind, but I was looking around on their website, and I noticed that they sponsor the PGA tour. I figured well since DL has a Pink 757- N610DL and also a Habitat for Humanity 767- N171DL, why not one for the PGA tour as well :
Side note as well - N1612T was recently repainted in the new Delta Colors.
Any thoughts Ideas, or criticisms are appreciated. Since many of you seemed to like my Kalitta 747 Livery.
Another thing to note- I use MS Paint, and for those of you who are familuar with it, know it does not do curves, or some other shapes that well, which lead to a basic design.

Hehehe.. maybe a Pride plane (Delta Pride, maybe?).. .since they do sponsor the ATL (and NYC too?) Pride celebrations.. perhaps a rainbow that flows from the front wheel, across the engines and up off the tail.. and have the Delta widget in Pink?
I have seen them sponsor other things too.. they could just go crazy with the theme planes.. they have enough to spare..

Interesting thought...though I'd prefer to keep the widget red...but DL has done a great deal for the GLBT community, especially in ATL. They have (don't know if they still do) served as a season sponsor for the AGMC, or at least they did when I sang in it. They also really helped the chorus out with airfare up to YUL for GALA last time (in 2004) and imagine they're probably doing the same again with GALA in MIA this time as well. Apparently there was one flight ATL-YUL last time where practically the entire plane (737-200) was all chorus members between members of the ATL chorus and the guys from the RDU and GSO choruses that were connecting onto that flight. I was told by my friends it was practically a singalong the whole way up to YUL.
To go back to the topic at hand, I'd love to see retrojets for the airlines that have helped make DL where it is today...how many would that be? NE, NW, RC, SO, NC, RW (the original), PA, and WA, probably...
Can passenger jets fly as fast as my feet do? Let's find out...

Would be nice to see something like what US Air has done with there planes. Northeast,Northwest,Western, Chicago & Southern and Pan Am. Who is RC,SO,NC and RW though? The list above is the only Delta mergers?

DeltaL1011man,
SO = Southern Airways (hubbed in Atlanta and Memphis)
NC = North Central (hubbed in Minneapolis)
RC = Republic Airlines (formed from a merger with NC & SO - hubbed in Minneapolis, Detroit, and Memphis.)
RW = Huges Airwest (merged into Republic hubbed in Phoenix and...Las Vegas? or was it Los Angeles?)
All of these are part of the Northwest family...the step-children in the Delta family.
Aviation is proof that, given the will, we have the capacity to achieve the impossible.

That is pretty funny, but the more I think of it, it may be a good idea to attract new customers. Have it fly in and out of BVT.
All kidding aside, I didn't realize DL had ties with the GLBT. Good for them!

Ah ok. Thanks for that. I'm not sure we would see any of NW's family true but it sure would be nice. Just make the Southern a DC-9 and make it in honer of those who played at Marshall.

Personally I wish they'd do away with the theme planes - while Breast Cancer Research and Habitat for Humanity are both good concepts, I'd rather have one uniform livery and not a bunch of variations and promote the organizations in other ways.

Quoting FutureFO (Reply 9): They have not done a Braves team plane nor a Reds plane. But they would also have to do a Bengals plane to get by as well.
I have to quit being so ATL centrist.

It breaks up the monotony of seeing the same livery everyday, and it gives people in the paint shop a job (being tongue in cheek of course).

Agree - focus on executing your new brand with excellence and relegate your promotions/partnerships to marketing - outside of altering the livery.

They did do a "Hank Aaron" plane. A 757 I think but I could be wrong. For my money I agree with COEI2007...Deltalina would be great. I keep looking for her but haven't seen her yet. LOL
