ANA Aeroportos de Portugal Confirms No Fuel For Commercial Aircraft (Portuguese Only)

"Já não há combustível no Aeroporto da Portela para abastecer aviões comerciais. A ANA, aeroportos de Portugal, confirmou, há pouco à SIC, que existe combustível, mas apenas para voos de emergência, de estado e militares."

As part of the nationwide truck drivers strike over the cost of fuel, Portela Airport has confirmed that only emergency, state and military flights will be refuelled from what stocks are left.

Breakfast in BHX, lunch in FAO, dinner in TIP, baggage in YYC.

It goes on to say that shorthaul flight tanker at outstations so that they don't need to refuel at LIS, and that long-haul flight make tech stops at OPO and FNC to refuel, causing delays. So far, no flight has been cancelled. Airlines were warned of the shortages last Monday. Their strategic stocks must be minimal, how long has that road been blocked? Two days?

Anyway, a major expense for TP.

Quoting RicardoFG (Reply 2):

Most likely it won't. If it's one and the same plane flying the whole itinerary, it'll take on enough fuel in FAO to fly the whole lot. If you have to change planes, the plane flying the LIS-CDG will have taken on extra fuel at whichever airport it came from.

Shorthaul seems unaffected, although Germanwings makes fuel stops at OPO (weird, LIS-STR/CGN isn't that far..) and Air Moldova stops at MAD.
