Hello everybody!

I'm wondering why there are so few Lufthansa commercials. I have never seen a LH commercial on TV. Though I've only seen one, it was a commercial for the new Lie-flat sleeper seat. Other big european carriers such as AF and BA have made a lot of TV commercials. How comes that LH haven't?

I think its because they publish most of their ads. I see a lot in magazines here in the states. I've also seen a couple of public posters, but they might have taken it down now.

We don't even have LH commercials at TV here in Germany. The only one i remember was a commercial in TV and cinemas for a short period, because they were searching new pilots.

Sometimes you'll find some ads in the print media...

I don't know the reason, perhaps their load factors are high enough without making commercials or they think commercials don't pay out.

AF and AB often have commercials in TV...

Maybe I am wrong but I remember very well hearing and/or seeing Lufthansa spots with Joe Cocker "we lift you up where you belong". I think it was in the Nineties and typically they would show one of their B 744.

Advertising is given special attention where the market needs to be captured. For the most part in most of LH destination, LHs service and destinations are well known, hence not much is invested into marketing.

There is something special about planes....

I've also noticed I've never seen a LH ad on tv here in UK but on London Underground there are many adverts for LH aswell as in most national papers and magazines.

A Lufthansa classic from 1998:

And a video promoting the brand Lufthansa, with 3:56 much to long for TV. Probably shown for staff training. The comment on YouTube says that the song has been composed exclusively for Lufthansa.

Love the first commercial.

The second video is nothing official though. The song has been done exclusively for Lufthansa but the video is nothing official.

I've also seen a lot of their advertising in magazines and newspapers. I also remember that they used to have posters too, at least in Stockholm.

I actually heard a LH commercial on radio only one or two months ago, it was quite funny actually.

Thank you for the videos.
