For all the Delta guys, what does a 9000 flight number mean for Delta Airlines?

Right now Delta is operating flight #9795 from SLC-DEN. Normally this route is operated by CRJ Skywest Equipment or a Delta Mainline Md-90 Equipment. So what is this flight? Also

Baseball charter. Braves were in DEN Monday night. The SLC-DEN leg was a reposition. They picked up the Braves and flew them to DFW.

And since when does Delta Air Lines operate CRJs? We don't. Our connection partners do, however. You'll never see a CRJ flight with "DAL" in front of the number.
