Very nice. I hope DL does well with the larger aircraft!

DL seems to be seeing decent success in MSY:
6x 757s to ATL in Sept... 2nd LGA flight...LAX hanging on with improved flight times... And mainline returns to SLC.
DL has always had a loyal following here and it's nice to see the airline do what it can for the area in these tough times.

My parents came out to visit me in March here in ASE and did the MSY-SLC thing, said it was packed coming and going on the CRJ 700. I have flown it as well and remember it being quite full. Great news for connections out west!

What type of A/C on LGA and LAX?

Of course, the MCO service has gone away, as the cuts to the DL MCO operation will be in full effect by the September schedule. So while MSY gains a decent number of seats, they do lose a few RJs to Disney (although Southwest 737s still ply this route, and for the SkyMiles addicts, ATL is a very viable option).

Also used to be operated by a 727-200.
Woohoo! Back to Beirut in Oct '13! (Along with a stop in DOH for 4 days)

In the past, DL has flown both the 762 and 763 on the ATL-MSY route, I had the chance to fly on both types several times between the two cities, and the MSY-LAS flight was on the 763.

Thank you for the clarification on the series of 767 that was used on LAS-MSY. On a side-note wasn't DFW-MSY flown from time to time with the L1011 and the 767?
Back in the mid 80's (pre DL/WA) we were all set to have a DL SLC-MSY flight with a 727-200. They even had the quick reference city schedules printed up for SLC with adds for the new service. At the last minute, probably within a week, the service was changed to DEN-MSY, instead. This was at a time when we only had 5 flights a day and things were flucuating back and forth with the number of flights.

When I was a kid in the 1980s we flew on a single plane service DL 727-200 SHV-MSY-LGA. We were the only ones who stayed onboard in MSY, which allowed me my first cockpit visit.

We've always had a presence in MSY. Old timers may remember we had an FA base there at one time too.
762's were not uncommon at all from ATL . For big holiday weekends the 763's have made guest appearances to accomodates heavy traffic. Always short fun flights!!

MSY will be seeing roughly 350 additional daily seats in September versus this summer and that is including the cancelation of the lone MCO nonstop which is still running currently. Not too shabby.
As for the 767s... Both 762 and 763 were scheduled year-round on the ATL run up until Katrina.

MSY is not the only city to get increase of mainline. IND goes up to 6 mainline in Sept. Too bad it's still with the MD88. Be nice if there would be some 737-800s or perhaps 757 thrown in good measure. IND could support those a/c.

Why do you prefer the Mad Dog over the 737-800? Sorry that I have spell it out.
