Yesterday on the news, after the earthquake struct the Seattle area, they were showing places all around the city. When they showed Seatle-Tacoma you could see 4 DL MD-11's. Does anyone have a clue why those were there? Are these the ones that used to fly out of Portland? What routes do these fly?

Delta does not fly any MD-11s out of SEA. They must have messed up and show a pic of PDX. None of DL's MD-11s were diverted to SEA / Vancouver yesterday according to their web-site.

Maybe media TV taping at Portland airport and it could be wrong statement in Seattle airport while TV taping at PDX airport. Most reporters made mistake! Did you see the concourse straight at PDX? Seattle doesn't have straight concourse it looks like dog leg shape. Let me know what did you see the airport?

Delta does NOT fly MD-11's out of Seattle. I think the news clip you saw yesterday was of PDX. I was in both PDX and SEA yesterday and there were four MD-11's there. there were not any md's here in Seattle (at least while i was here).

You all are right.. DL has a relatively small operation out of SEA. See, theres kind of a wierd situation with the media here in the northwest. The same company owns affiliates in Seattle, Portland, Spokane, and Boise (AH Belo) and they all share video, contributing to a local network, NorthWestCableNews, and to the various networks. What probably happened was some techno-guy pulled the wrong tape off of the network for footage and accidentally stuck KGW (PDX) footage of the earthquake into a story file for SEA. Its happened on many occasions that I can recall.
If the media doesn't screw up the information, they'll screw up something else...
