I believe according to the schedules that this is a flight that already exists. Whether the regional commuter carrier is changing or whether this is a two-year extension of the existing flight I am not sure. I would be interest in knowing.
This is quite an accomplishment in the current airline climate. I have been to BKW back when Piedmont flew YS-11s in there. Since then (1975) they have completely replaced their terminal and added the longer runway which was completed actually when I was still going to BKW to see a friend of mine.

Interesting articles. I guess this is a follow-on for 2 years of the Beech 1900D service they have been using. The Saab 340 are much nicer aircraft then the Beech 1900's...NW Airlink has several flights into Roanoke (ROA) with service to Detroit (DTW).
I'm glad to see Raleigh County working to keep air service in BKW. Mercer County Airport (BLF) lost Colgan service last year when the airport commission failed to apply for a subsidy request for the Essential Air Service program that keeps air service in smaller airports.
