Qatar Airways has suffered a minor hiccup as delivery of its next Boeing 777 has been delayed by a month. The aircraft, one of three set to arrive here by the end of the year, was supposed to have been delivered to the airline in July. However, Qatar Airways will now have to wait until August for its next 777...

The slightly late delivery of the 777 has been attributed to Sell, a German manufacturer of aircraft galleys, which serve as airborne kitchens. Sell is what is called a buyer-furnished-equipment (BFE) supplier in aviation terminology.

Apparently, flights to IAH has not been delayed yet, as I am assuming the next 777 to be delievered is a -300LR.

There was a brief mentioning of this topic in the EK topic reguarding delays in LAX and SFO thread. http://www.airliners.net/aviation-fo...eneral_aviation/read.main/4044596/

Guessing you mean -200LR, as a -300ER would seriously stuggle to op a route like DOH-IAH reliably

Yeah, but I meant the next plane is a 77W, and the one after that would be the 77L to be deloyed to IAH. The 77W would fly elsewhere, I am assuming to PEK.

 no

There are 3x 773ERs to come before the first 772LR, namely A7-BAC (on ramp now in primer), A7-BAI and A7-BAO, then it's A7-BBA (first 772LR).

The one month delay may not hit them all that bad. After all they had no plans to to start up new routes other than IAH this November. And according to the article that may be on schedule. The new B77W's would have been deployed on LHR, PEK on a regular basis.

BTW does anyone know where the B77W's as of now are sent other than IAD? BOM has gone back to the A330's.

I flew IAD-DOH on the A346 in January. So that route is now served witht the B77W? Where are they sending the A346 now?

DOH - IAD was chaged to B77W from January 1 2008 I'm surprised how you managed to get on the A346.

The A346 now does DOH - LHR and DOH - HKG.

Yup, forgot about that. Thanks.

However, I rumour mills at QR sometime back pointed out that the A346 maybe used for KIX as well, but maybe because of loads it is not possible.

Not true, I flew Jan 8th on the A346, and I believe it was changed a few days later. I had heard that it was going to be the B77W as of Jan 1, but apparently they delayed it.
