Kenya Airways Info Needed

Kenya Airways, one of the 764 main customers, is doing pretty well from outward appearances. They have a modern fleet in good condition, and appear not to be too unsafe (save the crash in Abidjan 1/29/00). Why are they so successful and other airlines, such as Nigeria Airways, Air Afrique, the list goes on... failing?

ANY info is appreciated...

Kenya is bustling with tourists. Nigerians and Air Afrique owners are corrupted.

kenya is very corrupt as well. The answer is a bit simpler - KQ has been run by British (rather than French) expats most recently (from Speedwing) - and has a strong tie-in with KLM.

Just to add to Emile's comments. The cargo alliance also contains Martinair.
