Would this be an actual EK bird or just one with stickers on it? I didnt think EK would have their bird delivered until later in Aug or Sep for the Oct run to KJFK.

He's correct! If you look at EK's 380 schedule it will arrive into JFK on the 1st and leave to DXB on the 1st. It will then arrive into JFK on the 3rd and not leave back to DXB until the 6th leaving a day or two to go to SFO and probably LAX....EK's 2 newest US stations and both located so close to each other.

Great - I'll be in SFO during that week - and hope to see the 380 there. It's unfortunate though that the 380 is due to be there on the Monday, it would have been much better were it scheduled to arrive on the weekend

It will undoubtedly be the EK aircraft. I don't see that they would let the gigantic aircraft sit at JFK for a prolonged period of time. They can use it for some gate testing at other airports in the U.S. San Francisco would seem logical after JFK.
Also they can do a nice flyover of the Golden Gate Bridge and the Bay area for the general public when they arrive or depart.
There was a better way to fly it was called Concorde

Ok, keep us posted!
It really makes one think about SQ - not only are they waffling about their SQ1/2 A380 deployment, but they also aren't taking the opportunity to show off their feathers at SFO like EK.
Thanks, EK, for thinking highly about New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco!

Hi Jacob, how are you doing? It's been a long time, so you have found a replacement photo for your KL 777 photo?

Hi A388....it's great to see you too friend...
While I would DEFINITELY love to take the A380 photo@SFO and will certainly look foreword on flying on one (probably QF)...don't think for a minute the A380 will replace my all-time favourite...
...in fact, just for the sake of everyone knowing..here it is..

Another thread, another reason for Jacobin777 to plugin his irrelevant photos..lol.
Anyways, count me in on Aug 4th, if I'll be State-side at the time.

To bring this back up.....
Any updates on a short flight around the S.F. area on the 4th, or which gate it'll use at the international terminal? The Emirates press release also says there will be two-hour demonstration flights at both SFO and LAX. So that means more than one chance to see it take off and land.
