They are operating three MD-11 freighters out of Brussels into Nigeria and Saudi Arabia. Another one flies from Miami to Chile. I do not believe that any of the DC-10s are still active. There is supposed to be an asset auction in August which may determine the future of the airline.

There is one DC-10 which has been parked on the north side of MIA for a few weeks now. There are also 2 at Opa Locka awaiting a new life as beer cans.

Quoting GCT64 (Reply 6): I can't find any references to N701GC flying for anyone in July - which doesn't mean it isn't flying, I just can't find any record.
From ACARSD
N701GC (MD11 (F) GR) 0052 20080716 GR0412 ()
N701GC A958DE (MD11 (F) GR) 0440 20080626 GR3032 (CPQ-MIA)
so it was picked up yesterday.
Quoting GCT64 (Reply 6): N703GC seems to be flying for someone but I can't work for whom.

Word is that WO will be bidding on the Gemini freighters, and working on a LOA with the union to allow the Gemini captains to be WO captains while WO gets their f/o's through upgrade. The Gemini guys would then go to the bottom of the list as f/o's. I am sure there is much more to it, but that's the basics of what I am hearing.
Nice Trip Report!!! Great Pics, thanks for posting!!!! B747Forever
I saw that, but MD11 is a pax flight scheduled on a B763 which doesn't make that much sense (why would a MD-11F sub for a pax flight?), and
The report on the 14 Jul came from a Swiss ACARS monitoring site .. which isn't consistent with the MD11 flight routing, and
Finally, "MD11" is amazingly coincidently the same as the a/c type, so I think the flight number box on the ACARS transmission is showing type not flight number.

The flying for Saudia with an MD has been discontinued while flying into S. America out of Miami has increased somewhat. Most of their remaining business, which isn't much, is in and out of Lagos, Nigeria.
Last week there was an MD sitting in Tampa, Florida for at least a couple of days - is it still there or where did it leave for?
I wonder how they're paying their bills with the gross under-utilization of their fleet, and when they plan to shut down?
