The increase in fuel costs seem to be starting to have an effect on long haul flights and one must wonder how this will impact Boeings point-to-point strategy, where hubs are bypassed by the use of smaller aircraft.

Most point to point flights will be at the more moderate distances. Someone likely has done a chart on how to balance the extra costs of two legs, versus extra costs of carrying enough fuel to do it in one leg.
