Does anyone hold any views on the best sources for tracking global passenger demand ?

I am familiar with MIDT and know that it must be adjusted to take account of direct bookings and bookings made directly with the carrier either over the phone or the net.

Another source is ticketing data from IATA (Bank Settlement Plan) or ARCS but am I right in thinking that this will not plot complex itineries well as agents often issue multiple tickets against a single booking therfore distorting the true O&D ?

Hopefully, there are plenty of airline analysts and consultants on the forum that could offer some insight here.

Many Thanks
