Flightaware.com shows a NW 747-200 and Polor Air 747-400 cargo jets leave ILN for ANC. Does NW and Polar Air have an agreement with DHL/ABX to transport their freight? I also see a LH MD11 cargo jet headed to FRA from ILN. Just curiouse why DHL/ABX would seek outside help to move their freight.

NW used to do the transpacific route for DHL. Now replaced by Polar that DPWN part owns. DHL and LHC has had a JV for years covering the transatlantic and AP routes from Europe. The new JV company Aerologic will use the new 777's to replace the LHC MD11's on the AP run, while the 6 new 767-300F that DHL takes delivery of from Q1 09 will replace LHC MD11's on the transatlantic. It is confrimed that the first 3 of the 767's will be operated either under DHL AIR UK or EAT's AOC i.e. Europe based.
