On my recent trip to Germany, I spent several days in Cologne at my grandparents' place in the AXA/Colonia apartment building. One evening, a 747 freighter came in in a noticeably different manner than any other plane. It made a tight circle over the city unlike other flights that make a wide circle, and flew directly over the building, which is normally avoided because it is 44 stories tall. Does anyone have any idea of why it had done this? I'll be posting a few pictures so you can see what I mean, taken from the 21st floor. Thanks for any info you can provide.
