Certainly not the news of the day, not with oil hovering near $150.00 a barrel and the stock market at its lowest point in 2 years but surprising none the less. Delta has reclaimed the #1 spot at PBI from B6. I thought B6 had solidified its #1 position in the florida market, especially PBI. Good for DL! B6 drops to #3

When I grew up in PBI, DL was our airline of choice either out of FLL and PBI, and there would always be a lineup of L10s and later 767s on their concourses, even at lil' ol' PBI

Thats great to hear. I love that Delta is doing so well at PBI. Just out of curiosity, who's number 2? USair?

what happened to B6, they fall asleep at the wheel? Will MCO and FLL be the next reclaimed #1 spots for DL? Didnt DL at one time or another rank #1 in most FL markets?

I have an OAG from 1976. Only three airlines served PBI. EA, DL and NA. In fact many FL airports only had three airlines. Even MCO had only 4, the three above plus SO. NW served FLL, TPA and MIA.

Yes, in May 2008. What's amazing is that JetBlue's numbers dropped by over 50% between April and May, reflecting how very seasonal and price-sensitive NYC-PBI traffic can be.

Good news for DL, but this will be short lived when the season starts again. Last winter B6 had up to 21 flights per day, all on 320's. Right now they have 11 flights, 8 on 320's and 3 on 190's. This is a big difference in capacity but still a lot of seats for summer time. DL used be No. 1 at PBI all the time, but B6 has really taken away all their JFK business and to a lesser extent some of the BOS business. DL still rules from LGA and CO from EWR. B6 may be No. 3 for now, but they will once again be No. 1 in the fall unless DL increases service to PBI.

AA is #1 to/from FL but they have a hub obviously. WN is #2 and then DL, at least in terms of seats.

If (big IF) full will go back down then its a good chance DL will re-start the MCO mini hub

DL may be #1 in departures from PBI ... but not service.
AA has the #1 hub position in Florida...
and for service I'd vote WN and B6!

Well since NK has a hub a FLL I highly doubt that. I dont see DL taking over WN at MCO either but that one is possible. But the days of DL being big at FLL are sadly gone.

No it's not. They're shedding flights, employees; the works. They don't, and won't, want to chase after the bottom of the barrel leisure flyers anymore.

Very true, when we have big MTC problems with our MD-88s MCO would drive out and do the work. Now it seems the ATL MTC has to fly down and do the work....

Fuel can go down to $50 and it won't matter. The days of DL's dominance at MCO and FLL are a thing of the past. That's a good thing, DL doesn't need to focus on those markets.

What I found sort of earth shattering was the results for Orlando.
