A A380 is doing a pass or two for the Festival Of Speed today at Goodwood.

Which one is it, where is it coming from and what will be the likely routing after it has finished it's demonstration?

Thanks.

Quote:-

In just under two weeks time many of the visitors to the 2008 Festival of Speed (11-13 July) will get their first glance of the world’s largest passenger airliner – the Airbus A380 – in low speed action as the phenomenal double-decker, wide-bodied aircraft flies slowly over Goodwood Park on Saturday 12 July.

The Airbus A380, or Superjumbo as it is sometimes known, can seat up to 853 passengers, depending on seat configuration, with a range of 15,200 kilometres and a cruising speed of Mach 0.85, equating to around 560 mph. The A380 is truly immense, being 73m in length, with a wing span of 79.8m, making it very difficult to miss as it flies over the Goodwood crowds.

I was at Goodwood yesterday and saw the 380 do it's display. Fantastic show of its capabilities. Its a shame the weather didn't co-operate as it was very murky and cloudy which destroyed all photo opportunities. Still, got to almost see a tornado out at sea (well funnel cloud) which i've never seen in the UK before!

And no A380 for Le Mans Classic today?? That could have been a good show for the 100,000 spectators present on the circuit...

Would have been a good idea. It does not take all that long to do a round from the UK to Le Mans and back. A couple of hours max. would do it.

Considering that Goodwood is close to Chichester and the South coast, while Farnborough is close to Heathrow, define "close"  Smile.

It's very close 'as the crow flies' between Farnborough and Goodwood - I drew the short straw and had to work in the office this weekend (Chichester) - seen the A380 at shows before but she seems to have much more presence when flying over a city doing her display. I got some shots from our car park, I'll try and upload them somewhere and provide a link shortly. The guys I was standing with had never seen the 380 before - I'll have to edit the video comments!!
