I would love it if EK served STN....I think there is enough demand for it as well...at least a 5 x weekly A330 service would work in a 2-class configuration.
The next destinations I could see EK serve in the UK are Edinburgh and possibly Leeds and Bristol. There has been talk of EK adding a 3rd daily flight to MAN, but they could operate it from LBA instead. I think the runway is long enough, and it would be an alternative airport for people in the North to fly from. I bet a lot of the Pakistani community who live in and around Leeds/Bradford would use the service with onward connections to Pakistan from Dubai.
Bristol would serve the South-West UK market. The runway at Cardiff is longer but BRS is a better location.

LBA can support the 767 without payload restrictions. Would An EK 330 be able to operate in the same way?
LBA might be a good spot for pax transferring onto India, Pakistan and leisure traffic to the far east and Oz but since there is a PIA service due to start from LBA to serve the Pakistani market and since MAN is only a short hop accross the pennines with much more choice of frequencies and airlines to choose from on these routes, would there be the demand from LBA?

It is a charter flight all the way from Oman. The Ruler of Oman booked this plane for his staff. They were on a delegate visit. There were 2 planes. A Royal plane and an EK Chartered plane. My girlfriend flew the staff from Muscat and then another crew took them to STN
