What would you change about the current Air France colourscheme? What would you add, change and/or what would you delete?

Nothing - I think it's rather clean and tidy

I agree with JaseWGTN, althought AF should put in biger the Pegase (you know, the little sea horse under the cockpit window), and maybe make the lower part of the a/c in color, which could be the result of the come-down of the stripes (what we call in France the "Code Barres"  Big grin).

I believe a simple and elegant change would involve keeping the current colors but extending the "code barre" down onto the rear fuselage a la UTA. Maybe increasing the size (billboard ?) and font of the titles. I don't have the computer tools to simulate it but it could be nice.

My definition of cool ? Not trying so hard to be cool.

I agree with extending the stripe design from the tail down around the fuselage. But I would also put that flying horse symbol they have, in the middle of the tail, with a white border so as to distinguish it from the stripes behind it.

Just curious, but what happened to their experimental grey cheatline they had a few years back now? why was it not adopted?

I'd change the font. No, I'm not talking about a Times New Roman quickie...  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Extending the "barcode" would be great.

Being the CP fan that I am, how about using the flying horse (pegasus?!?!) in subtle ways like how small geese decorated the "Canadi>n" logo?

Just keeping their planes clean will be good enough. I've seen so many AF planes that are so dirty that they border on being disgusting!!

OK guys, here's a quickie I did. Sorry bout the quality. The weird bug-like thing is the pegasus from the "groupe air france" logo near the nose. Enjoy.

I'd change the tail to add more white. There's just not enough white in the livery, you know. So, I'd just put a blue 'AF' on a white tail, much in the same way AOM's all white livery looked. That would be classy.  Smile

Extend the Bar code and put a cheatline on the windows like AA has with the red, white and blue. Lufthasa should also do something with it's bland all white paint scheme.

... washing the planes from time to time. Anyway, nice airline also with not-so-clean planes. As long as they keep them clean inside I'm with them.

i also agree that AF could do ´better in making sure that their planes aren´t as dirty. it´s not that i´d call the entire AF fleet dirty but always i see some AF aircraft, some of them or always dirty, much more often than KL,BA or LH.
and it´s the same with TP, IB, AZ in my eyes. although that could just be a coincidence. every airline has dirty aircraft from time to time.
btw, lauda air. i´ve never seen any dirty plane from them, they always shine and gleam and sparkle in the sun, they seem to be polished every day!!!!!
regarding the AF paint scheme, i agree that AF could use more color, extending the bars on the tail and perhaps adding some colour to the fuselage and the engines. no major changes, though.
the same counts for LH. although i like their scheme and although it´s mainly wide it somehow doesn´t seem so totally "white" to me, don´t ask me why. however, they could use more colour as well, f.e. on the engines.

I like it the way it is. The only change I would make is to play around more with the pegasus... make it more prominent and bring back the red in the wings. Over time, that classy little symbol has become smaller and smaller...

1) Cheatline
2) Silver belly
3) Silver wings
4) Silver Engines
5) Something on the winglets (French flag, European flag, pegasus, AF logo)
6) The European flag on the tail should be bigger (especially on Airbus  Big grin)

Folks,

I think one reason why AF adopted its current livery was the fact that they needed a livery that would withstand the high temperature operations on the Concorde.

That's why it's a white fuselage with the painted tail--and AF adopted it across the board with their fleet.

In a word...EVERYTHING (well almost!). I mean, where is the evidence of any French flair?

The "design" (or lack thereof!) of the tail is incredibly boring...just a couple of lame stripes. Even the font used for the AIR FRANCE wording is so bland!

I would keep the plane white, but do something interesting with the tail. Air France should look to SOUTH AFRICAN AIRWAYS for inspiration.

It seems to me that there's a side to France that's very practical - notice that France makes very few luxury cars of their own. Come on, 607, Safrane... are really more like bigger Lagunas and 406s.

So if AF should decide to make changes I'd like to see something very clean and more minimalistic than all that grandiose affair (which I link more to the British). Just my opinion  Smile
