Why does BA give full country style breakfasts on flights in Europe and the UK from 5 to 11am, but not on long-haul flights? Is their some restriction or economical reason for this?

Full, cooked breakfast served on all flights over 9 hours.
Less than 9 hours, and a selection of hot rolls and croissants are served. MMmmmm....
