Sounds like some cool ATA-branded items to be had at the auction... Who is going to be the first to have an ATA check-in kiosk with touch screen as their downstairs bar???

Today's auction of ATA assets comes nearly two years after the Indianapolis-based airline closed and filed for bankruptcy. The company, whose corporate offices were at the corner of West Washington Street and South Girls School Road, had about 600 local employees.

Quoting SAN787 (Thread starter): Sounds like some cool ATA-branded items to be had at the auction
I was at the viewing on Monday and there wasn't that much of interest. 50% of it is offcie furniture, 40% computer equipment, and the 10% left was miscellaneous junk to be quite frank. There was only a few wall hangings with any ATA branding or relevance. Because everything is sold in large lots, it was not worth the time for the very few interesting items.

I've been to auctions where they do those large lot groupings. It's aggravating. It's like "What will the opening offer be for this group of 50 desks!" Or even worse, the lot may be 100 calculators. I hate it when they do that.
Fly North Central Airlines..The route of the Northliners!
Can you imagine them trying auction off 100 calculators individually. I'm sure you would be able to see the life draining from the auctioneer's eyes as they reached calculator 50 and realsing that they were only halfway there.

I should have added that it was quite melancholy to see the old offices, including what was mine, in this state...all the hustle and bustle gone, quiet and lifeless. All I could think leaving there for the last time was what a shame, but nothing lasts forever and life moves on. Too many times we take much too many things for granted and things like this sober oneself to life's ups and downs and help appreciate what is important.

In the early 90's, a bunch of us engineers went to visit the auctioning-off of a startup that went bust. You could go to the various offices and see various designs still on the whiteboards, as if their engineers had left the day before. It was very sobering.

Well, TZ does still "own" the 3 L-1011s (N162-164AT). 162 and 163 are still technically on the certificate as they have yet to exhaust all efforts to sell the TZ operating certificate.
As for the 3 L-1011s, they have liens against them for a bank loan, but I suspect they will be part of the aviation related items that are to be auctioned by Starman Brothers in September. There is already a notice of it at www.starmanauctions.com/upcomingauctions.htm
