I'm enjoying my new window office facing towards the threshhold of 28R at PDX and underneath runway 28R's extended centerline  cool  . So far, in the last hour, three Fedex MD-11's have overflown the building, all lined up for 28R. How many MD-11's does PDX get in one day?!?!? Not complaining at all...  cloudnine

Back in the early 1990's, DL flew several MD-11's into PDX, from Asia and ATL.

Gotta buy a pretty good zoom, I'm about 3 mi. off of the threshhold. That and my boss wants me to, well, work...  Sad (not to say I couldn't do it on my lunchbreak...but I'm gonna need a hell of a telephoto lens  Wink )

28R? You must have an office that puts you in the middle of the Columbia River or on Government Island if I'm not mistaken. I'd believe it if you said 28L or 10R or 10L. 28R, 3 miles off of the centerline looking at the threshhold? Hmmm.

On your deathbed you'll receive total consiousness- so I've got that going for me.

You are mistaken   I'm about half a block off of the Columbia, actually...just south of Government Island.

EDIT: PS, I just measured it with the ruler tool on Google Earth, and it's actually 3.26 miles from my corner office to the threshhold of Runway 28R, and yes, the building I work in shows up on Google Earth...
