I suppose Oasis is gone forever right? Quite surprised that no one wanted to buy them.

Will anyone pick up its assets and form a new airline? Any chance of seeing the 4th Hong Kong based airline using B 747s again?

Why would you buy an airline when you could purchase the assets of the carcass in a firesale liquidators' sale?

I read (I think it was in AWST) that many in the finance world viewed O8 as being under-capitalize for the business model they were pursuing (no feeders, just OD traffic). In their short existence, they racked up a lot of debt, in which case if you bought the airline you'd also be buying its debt. Similar situation to AQ.
