I have noticed that AA has been returning their SJU-MIA flights to Airbuses for the time being. If you remember correctly these routes were all going to 75's after September 1. Up until December they are back in an AB6 and 75 combination of flights. There is also rumor of EWR coming back now as well....Go figure.

Wonder if there's going to be a push to move up some of the 757 upgrades before some of these changes are made?

MCO - MIA is still there...just not on AB6, rather with a 757 with 6 flights a day

Isn't FLL-SJU-FLL coming back also, (with a 752)?

That's great; happy A.net Bday btw. I'm glad that SJU will now have services to FLL, and even though its seasonal, BWI.

Its amazing how the made this huge show about pulling back SJU, sent everyone there goodbye papers and options, and all of a sudden they are 'putting' back. I say this over and over again..the average employee at SJU was 25 years tenured.......this may have something to do with this.

On another note 376 flight attendants accepted the retirement option at AA, AA wanted 900, so they will be offering partnership flying and other means..including considering TWA FA's seniority and allowing them to retire (something I feel is the right thing to do!).

AA never said the planned cuts were final. Schedule adjustments will continued to be looked at and adjustments made as necessary.

Oh please. They were final. AA pulled the flights from Sabre and sent warn letters to tons of employees. Now they are having second thoughts on handing the SJU market over to B6, NK and others as well as seeing what subsidies they can collect to remain on the routes.

I am glad they have changed their mind and reinstated service in several of these markets. I hope they go back into more, but this was not a work in progress... they pulled the trigger and now they have thought better of it.

I have heard that both FLL-SJU and MCO-SJU may be staying.
Keeping my fingers crossed.

I know the A300s have seen better days, are outdated, and scheduled to be retired, but still...

I cannot help but think of all the people who said that AA would have liked to or "should have" gotten rid of this "horribly unreliable" and "uneconomical" plane many years ago, whenever the original Airbus makes yet another comeback from the dead - even if only for a limited time. It seems like somebody at AA still finds the occasional use for them.

Come on now, you know that is standard AMR procedure...

They're rethinking surrendering SJU, and I'm hearing that the LGA slots wont in fact be retired by the government and we're now 'reevaluating' the situation at LGA.

Say what you will about AMR, at least they're consistent...  Yeah sure

Yes, I actually *do* work for an airline, how about you?

The scenario has changed, oil prices are coming down, business outlook seems not as bleak as previously thought. Good for AA, seems they are constantly monitoring the situation and being proactive, in uncertain business times, is better to be prepared for the "worst", rather than see the "worst" hammer your face.

1.) MCO-MIA going to all AB? I hope so, so I don't have to fly it. (PITA!)

2.) Not pulling down so much in SJU? The word on the street is that the SJU Airport Authority was trying to strong arm AA on fees/rent so AA threatened to take their ball and go home. Leisure travel was looking to tank so SJU Airport probably got some pressure from the Convention/Tourism Bureau.

Viola! Not pulling back as much as originally thought. TC

I suspect that they are not going to let these slots go.

I wonder what LGA flights will be added back in?
