Is Air Berlin/LTU DUS-JFK buy on board food in coach?

Also, does anyone know if they will interline checked bags with Lufthansa?

I very much doubt it, AB & LH are rivals, short-haul & long.

Before AB and LT merged, LH fed traffic from other points in Germany and Europe to connect with LTs longhaul flights (and vice-versa), however, since AB has their own extensive network, I'm assuming this is not the case anymore.

In 2004 I flew LH from TXL to DUS and connected on LTU from DUS to MIA. Bags were checked through, I got my boarding pass for the DUS-MIA leg in Berlin and the food for the trans-Atlantic flight was included in the ticket price. My only ever flight on LT, fairly good actually.

I very much think they would interline bags with LH, the airlines have an interline agreement, so why not. Food and drinks (most of the drinks at least) are all free of charge on AB / LT.

So what? That doesn't hinder interline agreements, of which AB and LH do indeed have.

Since nobody answered the Q regarding onboard food i´ll do it ...

AB/LT does not charge for food/drinks on long-haul as well as on short-haul.
Except for alcoholic beverages that are for sale only - first round on long haul is free, though.
On short haul 1 snack and 1 soft drink are free.

Huh? I thought that it was possible to have as many soft drinks as you like for free. The sandwiches they give are a lot nicer than the ones on LH
