Hi i am flying DEL-AMS on the 19th of August 08 and want to know the status of the MD-11's, do they have PTV's onboard yet? I gather from their website that they are beginning upgrading their M11 entertainment systems gradually.
Do any a/c have the new avod system in Economy?
Also, The two best seats are 7 H and J, since im travelling with my girlfriend, i want to know if these seats fall under that special category where u have to pay 50 Euros extra at the time of checking in?
I dont mind paying extra for the two of us, but is there any way i can get those two seats for sure?
Any help appreciated.
I want every single airport and airplane in India to be on A.net!

Anyone know how long these will remain in the fleet/on given routes? I am sure it is some kind of common knowledge here but I have not kept up with it. I want to take a trip in a summer or two with a GYE-UIO-BON-AMS sector but I have to admit, the draw is the MD11 and might rethink if it is replaced with something more vanilla like a 332.

KLM.com: "At the end of 2008, the entertainment system in the MD11s will be renewed. Then seats in both the World Business Class and the Economy Class will be equipped with a personal screen with an on-demand video system, games, text messaging and e-mail services as well as the three new programs listed above"
In december 2007 I was onboard one of the first renewed KLM MD11s on a flight from CUR. I don't know the registrations of the MD11's offering the new IFE but it's near 50% of the MD11 fleet now.
As far as I know, the IFE is similar to the system offered on the A332/772/773.
