Hello All,

I am exploring ways to pay back a friend for some concert tickets through the aviation field, since he's a Mesaba ramp agent at MSP and I work at the Crystal Airport in Minneapolis. Does anyone know if and how I can arrange a tour of the Cessna Factory in Wichita? It would just be a daytrip, and Cessna is the first choice because it's at KICT. Also, info on the Raytheon plant and/or the Boeing plant in Wichita and whether or not tours would be available there would be great. Thanks for the help!

No tours of either that I know of. Go to SEA for the day and take a tour of the Boeing factory instead.

My math teacher has taken a tour of the Cessna Factory, as part of the BEST (Boosting Engineering through Science and Technology) Robotics delegation. One concept that he took particular interest in was lean manufacturing, and its applicability to various organizations, including our robotics team.

The reason for the Cessna tour was because this year's BEST Robotics theme is 'Just Plane Crazy' - and its obvious relationship. We are gathering from various sources that the competition game will be themed something along the lines of aircraft assembly. (Not that the Cessna tour gave us any real hints  Smile )

That being said, I know that tours do indeed happen, but I'm unsure about how to arrange them and their availability to individuals vs. interest groups, etc.

P.S. : If anyone has any tips for theming a 10' cube as an ATC tower (which we plan to do as our exhibition booth, which is a competitive part of the championship), please IM me!
