LH CityLine CRJ700 Delivery Problems?

Hi everybody,

I thought CL´s first CR7 were to be delivered in March and enter service as of the summer timetable, eff March 25. Routes were supposed to be CGN-CDG, CGN-VIE, CGN-MAD and MUC-PAD. These flights were already listed in amadeus.net as operated by "CR7".
Today I received the printed version of LH´s summer timetable, and no CRJ700 shows up - not in the seating charts section and not on these routes - they´re now ARJ, CR1 and even F50. amadeus.net is also changed and says the same.
So what is going on? Are the deliveries delayed or something? Did CL discover nitial glitches in the tests which have to be cured first?
Any input appreciated,

Daniel Smile

P.S.: Sorry to spoil your day, Rizzibird, I know you were looking forward to seeing the CR7 in PAD, perhaps it´s just "aufgeschoben ist nicht aufgehoben", at least I hope so.

Oh no, I was really looking forward to seeing them in PAD. It would have been the first time an airline operates a jet on a scheduled flight to Paderborn, so far all jets we get are for charters to the Mediterranean. Anyhow, now we will be getting the F50, first time I see it in the schedule for PAD. The CR7 would definitely have been better but guess I have to live with a turboprob again. Furthermore the expected increase in capacity on the route does not take place now. It will be even harder to get a seat now.  Sad
Airsicknessbag, how did you like PAD when your flight DTM-FRA stopped there? How much of the terminal's extension is finished so far?

I've heard about slight problems with the 700, but LH is supposed to receive the first one in June or July....

I think the 700 was actually certified a month early..so I don't think deliveries would be late. I'm not sure who is in line after Brit Air, however Lufthansa was not an early customer, so I didn't think they would be receiving them until this summer at the earliest.

well, lufthansa certainly is an early customer for the crj 700s, however, certainly not the first one.
i don´t want to offend anyone, but there seems to have been some misinformation.
currently, there have been no major problems indicating a possible delay regarding CLH´s introduction of the CRJ 700 .
i´ve got an LH article in front of me, from mid january, that clearly says that the CRJ 700 simulator will be "ready for training" on the 28th of march. this said, it´s obvious the crj 700s cannot be in service, and could have never meant to be, in service by the summer schedule.
this makes it seem that the crj 700s are supposed to start schedule service somewhere around the beginning of the "real" summer schedule, becoming effective late june, or soon thereafter. makes sense, and it´s the same thing sailor´s already stated.
however, this is very interesting information you obtained, daniel" Wink/being sarcastic, and unfortunately, i don´t have a clue.
btw, daniel, have you ever had to use an airsicknessbag by yourself??? wanted to ask you that for quite some time!!!  Wink/being sarcastic

Rizzibird,

please see my reply to my trip report.
Could it be LH was not satisfied with the loads on the Dash8-400, therefore not introducing the CR7 on PAD-MUC but rather a 50 seater?

Daniel/Johnnybgoode,

no, I´ve never used a sickbag, and I have to admit I´ve never seen anyone using one, unfortunately  Big grin. I collect them, unused, to answer the inevitable next question Big grin.
The routes I indicated above (CGN-CDG, CGN-VIE, CGN-MAD and MUC-PAD) were definitely shown as being operated by the CR7 from March 25th in amadeus.net. I noticed that about two or three weeks ago. The information about the first ones being delivered in March and entering service eff. the summer schedule was in Flug Revue as well.

Daniel/Johnnybgoode

I can confirm that the PAD-MUC route operated by CR7 has been in the schedule on amadeus.net.

Daniel/Airsicknessbag

I can't imagine that the CR7 would be too big for the route. It seems to be always quite full. However the frequencies will go down as of March 25. On weekdays there will be only 7 flights (4 LH, 3 EW) instead of 8 now (LH and EW have 4 each).
Is it coincidence that they have changed the planned aircraft already 3 times since the cooperation of EW and LH has been announced? First the LH flights were to be operated by AT7 of EW, then CR7 of CL and now F50 (I assume Contact Air?). Isn't that strange?

Whats the delivery route these a/c are taking? It would be good to see one pass through Newcastle on delivery to mark the start of the Dusseldorf route but I guess thats unlikely.

as some of you might now, my father is a lufthansa cityline pilot on the ARJs and i just asked him.
so i´d like to apologize, because in some aspect, i might have been a little wrong  Wink/being sarcastic
well, initially the first crj 700 was slated to be delivered in march but for some reasons, the first delivery will be delayed until may, possbily june.

Thanks for the info, Daniel! Do you know when they will enter service and the first route it will be used on? I still hope for MUC-PAD! Love

the very first route the CRJ 700 will be used on is planned to be CGN-TXL. that´s one of the main routes the crj 700 will be deployed on and it´s a very lucrative route for CLH. in addition, the CRJ 700 is supposed to serve TXL-MXP and CGN-MAD, and others, of course. as for MUC-PAD, i don´t know, sorry!
however, i think the crj 700s will be used more on longer and thinner routes, such as the above mentioned flights, because that´s why they were ordered in the first place, and so i tend to doubt CLH would massively use them on domestic routes, which are quite short. nonetheless, i keep my fingers crossed for you!!!

cheers
daniel
