Why Is There A 1-hr Delay At CDG?

I was checking departing flights today from CDG at around midday, and found that all flights were delayed by an average of 1 hr. The flight I was tracking, ME212 was delayed by more than 1.15.

Does anyone around here know what the reason was?

This may be the reason or not......

But there has been some hefty storms in Europe over the last couple of weeks. So perhaps the normal corridors that aircraft are using are no go area's due to storms, and Eurocontrol is regulating traffic flow through the other operating corridors as not to "screw" the system up.

On the other hand.....it could just be a bad day to be at CDG.

Children should only be allowed on aircraft if 1. Muzzled and heavily sedated 2. Go as freight

Late answer:
For the record: Winds on these days were from the west.
Due to the runway layout at CDG, origin (and especially destination) of a flight demands to use a certain runway in order to prevent that flight paths converge.

Flying in into CDG on Friday 08-AUG with a 1400h arrival we were hold on the ground at HAJ for more than 30 minutes "due to heavy traffic at CDG" as it was announced.
When finally arrving on rwy 26L (the southernmost runway), there was a queue of around 8 heavies lining up for departure on runway 26R, all of which were from T2 (apparently these were departures to cross the Atlantic Ocean).
Additionally there was a constant stream of arrivals to 26L with a/c on multiple taxiways holding short of rwy 26R waiting for clearance to cross it.

When waiting at T2F for my outbound flight, I had a glimpse on a rather constant arrival stream onto one of rwy 27s (presumably 27R ?), too.

A number of flights to depart from T2F were showing delays, often due to late arrival of the a/c itself and then again waiting for connecting pax ...

Last year, when I connected through CDG, all flights in T2 were delayed 2 hours due to a bomb scare in the train station.

Are they still working on 27L in CDG?

If they are, most heavies have no choice but to use 26R, causing congestion on both departures and arrivals.

Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit posting...

Quoting Francoflier (Reply 4):

Telling from the twists and turns taken from our remote stand off S3, I think ouer EMB-145 took off from 27L on Sunday, 10-AUG, but I am not too sure.
Definitely I was a bit annoyed when we taxied all the way to 27L/R after having had a remote stand only meters away from a almost unused 26R (1745h departure) ...
