I don't but I stayed up until 4am last night to watch it and I hear from the commentator that there were 80+ political powers/royal family. Very interesting indeed, perhaps it isn't a busy time of the month for them! Would love to see a line up of all the jets too!  Smile

Is this the aircraft President Lula uses for his official trips?

There was a better way to fly it was called Concorde

Haven't seen anything reported, which doesn't prove they weren't.
For example, the photo shows a Spanish AF F900 but that wasn't on the list I have seen.
However, you would think a Luftwaffe A310 would be noticed - perhaps they used a CL60 and that was missed by the spotters?

For the UK the Beijing Olympic's Closing Ceremony is more important than its Opening Ceremony.

So PM Gordon Brown and many other British "dignitaries" were not at the opening ceremony where the UK was represented by HRH Princess Anne who is both a former Olympic medalist and the UK IOC Representative.

However Brown and many others will be flying out to join her towards the end of the Games for the Closing Ceremony where London Mayor Boris Johnson will be handed the Olympic flag for safe keeping until the London 2012 Summer Olympics.

Ex-Chancellor Schröder was supposed to attend.
The official representation was Interior Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble. What was he flying?

Okay, the Interior Minister in Germany is also responsible for sports so that makes sense, I thought maybe President Köhler would have attended the ceremony.
Maybe he did not came with a Luftwaffe airplane but on scheduled Lufthansa flight.

I wonder if Singapore or The UAE sent their athletes on their A380's as sort of a "show off" along with their athletes and their aircraft? I think that during the olympics, it would be a nice time for those countries to do so.......

On a side note, the opening ceremonies were really something!! I was suprised to see that it was people lifting all those blocks representing the greatwall and the flowers..

Schäuble hasn't arrived yet and thus didn't take part in the opening ceremony. He'll come later, I have no idea as to what he'll be flying.

Speaking of, I was wondering. Since China and the US aren't exactly best of friends, where is AF1 refuelled? Is it there at China, or is one of the C17 carrying extra fuel? As strict as the security of the President is, I can't really see them filling it with any foreign fuel, China or otherwise.
