Can anyone tell me about this plane? I will be flying in it from Boston to San Francisco. I hear it was put in service in 1999, so it's a new plane. Can anyone tell me about the ride, noise, entertainment on the AMERICAN AIRLINES BOEING 737-800?

I've only flown up front in F class (i'm not a snob or anything, i just work for them so when i non-rev i always ask for the front row). But AA's entire fleet is roomier than the average bear. You will be very impressed with the increased legroom. PLus the 738 is brand new with brand new CFM56-7 engines which are much quieter than the "new classics" like the 737-300 and -500s that, say United, operate. As far as entertainment, they have the TV screens mounted on top of the cabin ceiling, so you will be able to watch a cool movie. Are you flying AA this month? I can let you know what you'll be watching if you want Have a good flight, and thanks for choosing American

I have flown in coach on the AA 738 twice. Both were very nice and had very nice interiors. The ride was very smooth too. As for entertainment, all I can tell you is that the video monitors are located down the center aisle. It is also a quiet aircraft to be in too.
Overall it is a very comfortable aircraft and a pleasure to fly on.

On our way home it;s a Boeing 757 to Chicago, IL - O'Hare (ORD), then a McDonnell Douglas MD80 baco to Syracuse NY.
