I got upgraded to MH First Class last year aboard the 777-200 from Perth - Kuala Lumpur. The seat reclined about 160 degrees, had 10.4" touch screen entertainment system with AVOD, electric adjustment, excellent legroom, very good service and food. I'm sure you'll find them very good.
I believe that MH is upgrading their 744s with the same interior as the 777s but there are still a few flying with the horrible old seats which are ancient although they do have the GEN 1 entertainment system. I would definately check with reservations to see what type they use on the route. Hope this helps.

Just want to tell you that ALL MAS B747-400s are now of the enhanced version. (except for the 2 Combi, but since you are traveling on the LAX-KUL route, MAS does not utilize the Combi on this route; only some flights to Hong Kong, Johannesburg, Cape Town and Buenos Aires; so it is not relevant though).
In First class, the seats recline to a full 165 degrees with 3-way exntended rests and an "Easy Sleeper" seats with a minimum seat pitch of 76". You can have Audio and Video On Demand (AVOD) for your music and video entertainment system. You will be entertained will 10.4" of personal touch screen TV, one of the largest in the world. You can also make use of MAS' Golden Lounge at LAX, Taipei and of course KUL, which is the world largest passenger lounge. You can fly either via Taipei for the late evening flight or Tokyo for the afternoon flight. It would be better to fly via Taipei as you arrive in KUL around noon rather than arrive in KUL in the early hours of the morning if you fly via Tokyo.
MAS' First Class have a very good reputation as among the world finest and obtain several awards before. Anyway, do tell us which airline you choose to take for your LAX-KUL flight!
