That's what CX announced today in Amsterdam.

http://www.luchtvaartnieuws.nl/news/?id=27204

To summarize, CX is redeploying the jumbo as from the coming winter season to cope with the high demand, especially on the AMS-Australia market.

AMS was served by the A343 fleet since winter 2001-02 period when CX removed the 747 from its Dutch schedule.

Exactly that came to my mind.... But I thought CX was the only scheduled 340 coming to AMS. So this is gone now as well  Wink

If they're reducing US/Canada services by 10 flights a week, this means that the 77W fleet will need to be deployed - presumably these will come onto EU routes a lot sooner now?

Absolutely a great sight for AMS spotters.
Another 747 pax at AMS is always welcome.
The only remaining carrier operating the 340 to AMS will be Turkish, but only occasionally.

Many of the reduced frequencies/routes are operated with 744 equipment, not 77W.

AMS-Australia market.

Interesting to see KL - MH cannot fully supply the demand to Australia from AMS.
Who is next? SQ?
