A small plane crashed right outside of Boston. Don't have a news link yet. But the AP is reporting 3 dead. It landed on a grocery store parking lot.

Channel 7 just reported that 3 fatalities. Pilot plus 2 pax (mother/daughter), one who was going to hospital in BOS for cancer treatment from Long Island.

[Edited 2008-08-12 08:28:42]Now they are saying husband/wife on the other channels, but whatever, it's sad for all concerned.

From the pictures I've seen, it looks like a Mooney. It was on an Angel Flight. So sad...may they all rest in peace.

Fox news earlier was reporting a Cessna. But then again I've seen A320 crashes and they call them 737s.

Whoops...update...they're reporting it's a Beech Bonanza. Must be a V-tail.

By the picture clearly not a V Tail.....looks like an A36 but does it really matter, 3 people are dead

The article in the Boston Herald says that it's a Cessna-style aircraft. A pic of the wreckage is also shown in the article, see below-link.

Exerpt:
Multiple people died this morning when a small Cessna-style plane on a mercy mission crashed nose first in an Easton strip mall parking lot and burst into flames, according to the Easton Fire Department.

First off RIP to the victims and its a sad day for the families.

Second, what type of low wing aircraft does Cessna make other than twin engines. This is clearly NOT a Mooney, V-Tail Beech, or a single engine Cessna. I'm going with a Beech Bonanza.

Actually they make they Cessna 350 & Cessna 400. Formerly Columbia aircraft, they bought them and are now in fact low-wing single engine Cessna's.

Definitely a conventional-tail Beech from what's left of the empennage/tail section I can see.

That's irrelevant, besides. Angel Flight is one of the most truly unselfish things a pilot can do and among the best things us GA guys can do for others. And AFAIK they've maintained a great safety record up until late.

It is a V tail bonanza. The tail has leaned over and looks like it is standing up but it is easy to tell with the scoop ahead of the V tail. I fly them, work on them and have owned 2. You also can see the aileron is typical Beech. Super sad.

Cheers

You also have to remember the press thinks any airplane that is one engine/small is a Cessna so it could be anything.

From what I've read, it appears to be N4615D, a Beech G35 built in 1956. It's owned by a Connecticut woman, who was not onboard at the time.

yeah i was in the area when it happened. All of a sudden there was a huge explosion at the shopping mall. Everyone on the ground was running away because the noise was extremely loud. God Bless them , and may they rest in peace.
