I recently had an interview with Southwest on July 23rd in FLL for the ramp and was "hired". After the interview I was put through the background check which was completed a couple of days ago which went rather quickly. I have worked for an airline before so I know what it means to be put into pool status, but I was wondering if anyone knew on average how long I might be in the pool with WN or when FLL will hiring more employees with the new flights they have added and the season coming on? Any info you guys might have would be great. I know it takes a while I am just really excited to get to work with them!!!!

The pool water treading lengths vary widely. I passed the interview for an FA position drug tested background completed, after 6 months they had me redo the drug test and then about a month after that they called me with a training date to start in about 4 weeks from that phone call. I had already accepted another offer the day before and declined the training date.

For SWA, you are not "hired" until you actually start, since senority goes by Hire Date in your Class.
A timeline for me when I started as CSA for WN, Sent application Dec 23, Got invite to interview Jan 13th for a Jan 31st interview date, interviewed Jan 31st, got drug test call Feb 4th, did drug and urine test Feb 23rd, offered job March 1st for a HIRE date of March 19th.
For WN being in the pool really does vary quite often station by station, I worked with someone who was in the "pool" for 5 YEARS!
