maybe I am just stupid and have not looked closely when I have been at O'Hare, but I have never seen this before.

I believe that BAe 146 painted in United Express livery belongs to Air Wisconsin, a regional airline that flies to various cities in the Midwestern USA to support UA flights out of ORD.

BAe 146's have been flying with United Express since 1986.
Of course, they also existed in the Express version of their old livery as well.

The BAe-146's in the United Express System are operated by Air Wisconsin with 12 146-200's, 5 146-300's, and 1 146-100. Air Wisconsin was the launch customer for the 146 in 1983, and began operating with United's colors in 1985. Aspen, Presidential, and WestAir have also operated 146's for United Express.

They should get the B 717. B 717 is just a great plane for 100 pax.  Smile

Economical at least.....

Air Wisconsin or some other UAex airline also uses the 146 out of DEN. I have flown it DEN-EGE before.

Air Wisconsin's 146's are "grandfathered" in, as UAL's scope clause will not allow Express to operate such a large A/C (88 seats -200, 100 seats -300). United allows Air Willie to continue to operate them because no other jet type can operate out of many of the mountain airports, particulary Aspen... one of United's single most profitable destinations.

Um lets see here....... You seem to think that the 717 will be a great replacement. do u know what routes the bae146 flies? Obviously not because they fly routes where the 737 and 717 can not fly. For instance they are the largest jet into aspen and alot of other little airports that need jet air service. Get the facts before your write something.
