I got a pager message at 21:00 on 17th August saying that Manchester Airport (UK) had declared a full emergency.

Train services (I work on the railway) were being cautioned. The railway line passes underneath the flight path for runway 24R/06L.

I have looked on the local news and also here on Airliners.net and can see no mention of anything out of the norm.

Does anyone have any idea of what happened ?
