BA Codeshare On BE

Since the disposal of BA's regional network to BE there are a number of flights where BA codeshares on BE operated flights.

I wonder why BA only has codeshares on specific routes and not the whole BE network that would give BA a 'virtual' presence in the regions.

I think it was agreed that when BE took over BA Connect, BA would be permitted to codeshare on their former routes.
Am I correct in saying that this codeshare agreement is only in place until 25th October this year?

Interesting. I would have thought with BA holding a 15% stake in BE then it would maintain a codeshare agreement on BE flights.

Given that BA have given up their regional network, other than flights that feed LHR, I would have thought this arrangement would be a good way to keep some sort of presence and perhaps in the future BE through its relationship with BA could become a partner of the OW alliance

From a quick check on the current BA On-line Timetable (valid until early July 2009) it appears you are correct.

Currently BA code shares with BE on 6 of their flights each weekday on both the MAN-BHD and MAN-EDI routes. There are no BA flights on either of these routes after the end of October.
