Is this a long-term solution (bus only) or will it be linked to the CDG val?

eh... no, you got that wrong... the VAL will not be extended to 2G, but only to S4 - so bus transfer forever... Sad

the reason seems to be quite simple: the VAL is outside the Schengen-zone, while 2G is a regional terminal dedicated for Schengen flights.... so the VAL would only be useful for connecting to non-Schengen flights. I guess for this it's just not worth extending it.

2G seems to suffer from the same disease as the rest of CDG: it's well built for O/D, but a PITA for connecting...
