The new Terminal CDG 2G for short-haul flights opens on September 3rd.
21 destinations from 2G
Schengen destinations, flights operated by regional aircrafts from Regional, Britair, CityJet, Airlinair
Transfer is by landside bus only (no walking) - maximum wait time 4mn - from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM
- 80 daily flights
- 20 contact stands and 6 remote stands
- 3 million passengers expected yearly
- 20,000m² surface
- 1,800m² surface for the boarding area
- 1,000m² surface for shops

The VAL will be extended to the Satellite S4 in 2014

eh... no, you got that wrong... the VAL will not be extended to 2G, but only to S4 - so bus transfer forever...
the reason seems to be quite simple: the VAL is outside the Schengen-zone, while 2G is a regional terminal dedicated for Schengen flights.... so the VAL would only be useful for connecting to non-Schengen flights. I guess for this it's just not worth extending it.
2G seems to suffer from the same disease as the rest of CDG: it's well built for O/D, but a PITA for connecting...
