I am curious to hear about the history of the International terminal that was opened in 1971.
Does anyone have any background on the Terminal and when the extensions were completed ie: Pier C and any other interesting snippets.
I recall the days before Pier C was built and the marvellous outdoor spotting oppportunities from the two decks that faced onto the tarmac. Also flying out sometime in afternoon in the mid 1980s and there were only 3 -4 aircraft parked in bays - it was that quiet.
There is a great shot on a.net of one of the first PA 747 servies to SYD and it was the ony a/c parked at the terminal. How times have changed!
