Today at my house I looked up and saw a 747. I thought it was a NW 744 but using my binoculars it was a Kalitta Air 742. It looks like it will be landing at MSP in a few minutes. I wonder why its here?

Sorry if the name airline is incorrect.

It ain't no normal MD80 its a Super 80!

I'd love to see pics!

Where would they be parking? The 5X, FX and CH ramp across from Humphrey Terminal or the GB/ER and PT ramp parallel to 17/35?

Darn, too bad MSPUpdate isn't around anymore....  Sad

Kalitta does a lot of government work, as does EIA. Most likely a transfer of government supplies of some sort useful in both conventoins, perhaps security equipment.

I posted this yesterday but it was deleted as it referenced a deleted post. Here it is again:

I think it may be the transportation of explosive detecting equipment that was used at Denver for the DNC. It was supposed to come to MSP this weekend prior to the start of the RNC. I don't know how big the equipment is, but there is likely several of them as they're used at all of the checkpoints. They must also being carrying various other security equipment that was used in Denver that can be used in St. Paul.

That, too. How could I not have thought of that? However, I would have thought the TV stuff would have been set up in advance...
