Do any operations folks out there know if FEMA will activate the MAC program in the coming days if Gustav threatens major gulf coast population centers? I do not see anything in open time at my major airline...yet.

Just curious given that most military transports are on deployment overseas.

Already had a flight yesterday. Kalitta 727, KFS724, from ONT-SAT. I would imagine there are a few more out there, better to be safe than sorry after Katrina.

Here in San Angelo (SJT), we have been told to expect several inbound flights from Louisiana on Sunday. They are expecting 300-400 evacuees. Also, if Gustav turns toward IAH, Colgan Air/Continental Connection may send the entire fleet (12 aircraft) here for safety.

CNN just reported that te city has chartered a number of flights from airlines. They are now bussing people from the city to the airport. The reporters were interviewing some people who said they had no idea where they were going to and that they had never been on an airplane. If you look at flightware, there are now a number of 9000 flight numbers from AA, NW, DL, RPA, and a few others, both inbound and outbound to MSY. I am sure that ths number will increase over the next day.

I see that NW is running 757s from MSY to SDF too. North American 75s to BNA.
