hey everyone... maybe its me... but it seems like the 300Bs have a sharper nose than the 300-600s... do they actually have the same nose? can someone confirm my observations?
well, besides 2 more rows of windows, how otherwise can i differentiate a B from 600 (not 600R with the winglets) ?

I think they have the same nose.
On the other hand, the rear fuselage of the A300-600 has the same profile as the 310 rather than the A300B. This is why there is two more rows of seats. But I'm not sure you can detect that (I can't). Some A300-600 have PW 4156 engines while all A300Bs have either the CF6 or the JT9D.
Hisham.

One thing I've noticed when I see an old A300B is that if you look at the top of the rear fuselage, there will be a "spinal hump" (I don't know what it is exactly and therefore I don't know what else to call it). It looks like a thin, smooth elongated pertrusion that may have been used to support the structure of the fuselage, anyhow, I have noticed that this feature is not on any of the newer A300-600 series of airbuses. I like to compare this structural feature to the Rockwell B-1A vs the B-1B (one has a rear spine while the newer one does not). If you look closely at some photos, you'll know what I mean (you don't even need a magnifying glass to notice it since it is quite apparent).

Hope this helps.
